Leaks and mold continue to pose serious problems for the construction industry. This seminar will compare traditional waterproofing systems with modern waterproofing technology to show how tiled showers have evolved. The fundamentals of both approaches, including proper design, execution, and function will be presented, with close attention paid to common errors, as well. The benefits of bonded waterproofing technology and how it has improved tiled showers will be stressed.

At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

Steve Brasington has been associated with the ceramic tile industry for over 42 years. In addition to his background in both commercial and residential installation, he has extensive experience in sales in the retail environment, and as a distributor and manufacturer’s representative.

For over twenty-seven years, Steve has been working for Schluter-Systems’ North American subsidiary as a sales and architectural resource. An expert in the field of ceramic and stone installation technology, Steve has presented hundreds of educational seminars to architects, tile contractors, distributors, trade shows and designers throughout the country.

Steve is a certified tile consultant (CTC) of the Ceramic Tile Institute of America (CTIOA) and a certified ceramic tile installation inspector for the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) and the Tile Council of North America (TCA).

Steve lives in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife.
