This presentation explores how each stakeholder influences material performance, cost, aesthetics, and long-term maintenance. Attendees will learn practical strategies for involving all parties to improve decision-making, reduce rework, and achieve durable, functional, and design-aligned outcomes.

Jasmaine Jarvis

Jasmaine Jarvis, NCIDQ, is an accomplished interior designer with nearly a decade of experience specializing in educational and government facilities. She brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to every project, working closely with clients and teams to develop design concepts that balance function, aesthetics, and long-term durability. Jasmaine’s expertise includes space planning and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders on the selection of finishes, materials, fixtures, and equipment.

Her project portfolio features significant work such as USC Upstate’s Library expansion, the new D10 Middle School and Deer Park Middle School renovation for the Charleston County School District, and detention center projects for Aiken, Anderson, and Beaufort counties. Jasmaine is a United States Marine Corps veteran and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. She is a registered interior designer in North Carolina and South Carolina and is an active member of the International Interior Design Association.

Shannon Calloway, AIA, brings over 20 years of experience in architectural design and project management, with a specialized focus on collegiate and athletics projects. As Vice President and Managing Principal at Moseley, Shannon leads project teams with authenticity and a collaborative spirit, guiding each endeavor from early planning through construction. His leadership style fosters trust, clear communication, and thoughtful mentorship, resulting in successful outcomes for clients and teams alike.

Shannon’s portfolio includes projects such as the Clemson University Forestry and Environmental Conservation Building, USC Upstate’s Library Classroom Building expansion, Old Dominion University’s Baseball Stadium expansion, Greenville Technical College’s multi-campus master plan, and the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium at Wofford College. He is adept at developing solutions that address client needs and budget requirements, and his expertise extends to navigating complex state approval processes and delivering student-environments. A graduate of Clemson University with both a Bachelor and Master of Architecture, Shannon is a registered architect in South Carolina and an active member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Ben Whitener, AIA, serves as a leader of the Charleston office and a principal at Moseley. Pursuing his passion for design for nearly three decades, Ben is well-versed in the complexities of large public building projects, historic renovations, and condition assessments. Ben approaches design as a joint effort between architects, engineers, and building owners. Each project must respond to specific requirements while fitting its location. Ben’s commitment to teamwork and design excellence shapes enduring structures and fosters the professional growth of those around him.

Ben’s extensive portfolio includes the USC Upstate’s Library expansion, the Charleston County Baxter-Patrick James Island Library, the College of Charleston’s Grice Marine Lab renovation, and numerous historic preservation projects. His expertise spans adaptive reuse, new construction, and complex renovations for municipalities, higher education, and public safety clients. A graduate of Clemson University and North Carolina State University, Ben is a registered architect in South Carolina, currently serves on the City of Charleston Design Review Board, and previously served for nine years as a trustee of the Clemson Architectural Foundation.
